Book Review of "According to Punkin" by Sondra Gray I just finished reading "According to Punkin" by Sondra Gray. What a delightful story, told from the perspective of a cat! Anyone who enjoys animals, particularly cats, should enjoy this story, from young students who have just mastered the art of reading, to the elderly! The book starts out with Punkin living her life as a stray at a packing house in California, lonely and half-starved. Of course, she is rescued from her horrible, unloved fate by two wonderful people, who lead her on a life of awesome adventure over the road in their big rig. The antics of a feline are on full display in this novel. Anyone who has ever had a cat for a pet knows how curious, loveable, and goofy they can be! From getting tangled in Christmas lights, to becoming indignant and disliking her first real bath, to spilling glitter in the author's husband's beard, Punkin is constantly busy doing something! Cats like boxes too, and many times they are their favorite toys, just like with little kids! And of course, when another animal is introduced into Punkin's "family", she decides that that is the absolute worst thing that ever happened to her, or, was it the best!? She even manages to prevent thieves from stealing her "Mom" and "Dad's" cargo! What a purrfectly wonderful hero! Female felines rule! There are heartwarming chuckles galore in this book, and I encourage anyone who desires and enjoys a relaxing read that provides lots of humor to purchase a copy! Punkin's bowl is calling right now, but she'll be happy to entertain you just as soon as she has finished eating, and then taken a nice, long, lazy cat nap! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This review was submitted by Cynthia Jean Mueller, author of Beyond the Garden Arbor. It is a magical, fantasy novel about a girl's life that takes place just after the Great Depression, written to appeal to pre-teens and beyond! Just like According to Punkin, it is also available through Tate Publishing and Enterprises, or on any major book-selling website, along with the website Christianstoryteller.com.
